The Roman-Catholic Church “The Beheaded of the Saint John the Baptist” - Tăuții de Sus

This church was built in different periods of time, its place being the nucleus of the communality in the Middle Age. The eastern part of the church and the altar were built at the beginning of the 15th century, and in the second part of the same century the western part was enlarged with almost 5,5m. The sacristy was built in the 18th century.
The church is made up of a rectangular aisle. The southern façade has three gothic stone windows, and the walls of the choir have three gothic windows, and the one which is on the axis of the church is walled.
Along the centuries, it was used as prayer house by many religious confessions: by the Calvinists, who seemed to have built it, by the minor monks, by the Protestants, and presently by the Roman Catholics.
